Today, on January 29, 2014 at the Office of Secretariat of the Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan a multilateral meeting was held with development partners. Multilateral meeting was attended by the Heads of international organizations such as UN Development Program, Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, OSCE Office in Tajikistan and German Agency for International Cooperation in Tajikistan, KFW Development Bank, Swiss Cooperation Office in Tajikistan, MSDSP Project and Eurasian Development Bank.

During the meeting the Head of the Secretariat Zavkidjon Zavkiev reminded development partners about necessity of timely implementation of Protocol decisions of 12th Session of the Consultative Council dated on December 13, 2013, particularly the effective implementation of the Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improvement of Investment Climate in Tourism. Special attention was paid to issues such as the definition of the four centers of tourism development in the country and bring them in line with international standards, development of competitive tourism product portfolio, simplification of passengers’ arrival and departure procedure in international airports of the country, including purchasing and installation of equipment and special integrated program registering tourists on arrival and departure from the country and automatically distributes information to state borders authority, tourists registering bodies, custom, migration and statistical bodies.

The representative of German Agency for International Cooperation in Tajikistan and German Development Bank (KFW) expressed that their organizations would assist to the development of private sector in tourism, including development of competitive tourist product portfolio of the country, participation of domestic tourist businesses in international exhibitions as well as presentation of tourist attractiveness of Tajikistan in Berlin exhibition in March of current year and crediting tourism businesses.

The Representation of European Union, OSCE and DFID would assist in improvement of customer services in the international airports of the country and other borders crossing points, organizing of the training courses and seminars for tourism professionals abroad.

The Representative of Swiss Office for International Cooperation in Tajikistan and UN Development Program have plan to work on identifying tourist centers and make them appropriate to the modern requirements, also developing tourism brand of Tajikistan.

At the completion of the meeting the parts expressed their willingness on effective implementation of Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improvement of Investment Climate in Tourism.
