On August 02, 2013 was held a joint meeting of the Interministerial Working Group and a Working Group of development partners on tourism.

Zavkidjon Zavkiev - Head of Working Group, Head of Secretariat of the Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan opened 4th joint meeting of the Interministerial Working Group and a Working Group of development partners and reiterated the importance of the issues. The Working Group has to conduct an analysis on all of spheres and development issues in tourism sphere, and to submit their recommendations to the next Session of the Consultative Council.

From the development partner’s side Mr Christopher Miller - Head of the Representation Office of International Finance Corporation in Tajikistan had a speech and outlined that development partners had an interest on development of tourism sphere of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and they are ready to provide technical support to Tajikistan on preparation, adoption and implementation of this reform. The Head of the Representation Office of International Finance Corporation in Tajikistan introduced to the participants Professor Philip Riddle - Tourism Development Adviser “VSO International” in Tajikistan, which was hired by the Government of the Great Britain for this purpose.

It was suggested that Professor Philip Riddle should join the subgroups of the working group as an Advisor and he expressed his readiness to help.

In turn, Professor Philip Riddle said that Tajikistan has all possibilities for the development of the tourism sphere and its development is on the right direction.

At the meeting subgroups of the working group were instructed to work actively for implementation of the Action Plan and submit their recommendations on improvement of investment climate by October 30 current year.
