On 22-23 February 2012, a meeting of the Working Group on drafting of a new Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Public-Private Partnership" was held with participation of representatives of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, ministries and agencies, Secretariat of the Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and private sector.
As a result, the Working Group prepared the primary version of the draft Law, which in coming days will be sent for consideration to the relevant ministries and agencies.
In the next step, according to the instruction of the Chairman of the Consultative Council, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the draft Law of Tajikistan "On Public-Private Partnership" will be submitted to the next session of the Consultative Council on Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the first half of 2012.
It is worthwhile to note that adoption of this Law would strengthen Public Private Partnership and contribute to resolving issues of vital sectors of the economy, including energy, transportation, construction, roads, housing - communal services and water supply, education and healthcare by attracting foreign and domestic investment.
