Today, on October 15, 2018, within the framework of the Fourth Anniversary of "Entrepreneur’s Day", with the direct support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, International Entrepreneurship Forum Dushanbe-2018 was held in State Entity “Kokhi Borbad” in Dushanbe, entitled "Development of entrepreneurship and investment, and modern economic processes".

Before the forum an exhibition of products of domestic entrepreneurs was held, where more than 50 local producers showcased their products to the audience.

The forum hosted representatives of the country's legislative bodies, members of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of investment project implementation centers, senior representatives of international financial institutions, diplomatic mission representatives, development partners of Tajikistan, Tajik diaspora, representatives from 23 countries, as Germany, France, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, Belarus, China, Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, India, Sri Lanka, Afganistan, Pakistan, Iran, Kenya, Gambia, Namibia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and domestic entrepreneurs, and in sum more than 2000 people attended the forum.

The official part of the forum was opened by speech from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. Speech of the Head of State was focused on the most important aspects of the country's economy, including the development of entrepreneurship and investment and the modernization of economic processes at the globalization stage, information and innovation technologies, the need for greater joint efforts of the international community for the rational use of opportunities and resources, the role of modern economic processes in increasing the effectiveness by ensuring transparency, quality, and range of goods and services in general, and sustainable development of the national economy.

Mr. Neil McKain, Regional Director for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Central Asia, Ms. Pratibha Mehta UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Ms. Cassandra Colbert, Regional Director for the International Finance Corporation in Central Asia, Mr. Won Hee Kim, Chairman of Seoul Machinery and Mr. Jean-François Legrain, Vice President of FIVES Group delivered speeches at the opening part of the forum.

It was expressed with confidence that the results of the forum, indicated by the number of agreements, were aimed at strengthening the foundation of mutually beneficial economic and trade relations, ensuring economic growth and improving the well-being of the people of Tajikistan and the region, as well as the strengthening the common will regarding the use of the opportunities for the benefit of all the parties involved.

At the end, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, congratulated the entrepreneurs with the Fourth Anniversary of “Entrepreneurs Day”, and wished them fruitful work and success in their business.

Then, the second part of the forum was taken to the “National Library” in six different panels, namely: “Increasing Competitiveness in Business with Modern Technology; "Startup" as a new way of entrepreneurship development among youth”; “The prospects of tourism development in modern conditions and revival of handicrafts”; “Finance and Role of Banking System in Entrepreneurship and Investment Development: Current Situation and Perspectives”; “Innovative entrepreneurship development in industry: perspectives and cooperation opportunities”; “Innovative entrepreneurship development in agriculture: perspectives and cooperation opportunities”; “Investment in innovations for infrastructure development”. In the panels the entrepreneurs and investors exchanged views regarding investment in Tajikistan.

Meetings and discussions of foreign and domestic entrepreneurs and investors in the B2B format, and meetings of management of state ministries and agencies with foreign and domestic entrepreneurs and investors the B2G format took place within the framework of the event.

At the end of the forum, the reports of moderators of panel discussion were heard. First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Davlatali Said evaluated the panel sessions, and the forum in general, and the resolution of the forum was adopted.

As a result of the forum, 13 agreements were signed between businesses and investors.

It should be noted that the International Entrepreneurship Forum has been organized annually in Tajikistan, bringing together many investors and businessmen from all over the world, aiming for the development and expansion of economic and trade cooperation, honoring the domestic goods market and attracting foreign investments into the country's economy.
