The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presided over a session of the government.
The meeting participants focused on the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators for 2021-2023. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda delivered a corresponding report.
He pointed out that Tajikistan’s main macroeconomic indicators for 2021-2023 were developed based on the global and CIS countries' economies, Tajikistan's major trade partners, price changes in the global commodities market and development of national economic sectors in recent years, including in January-April 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Other issues discussed included a number of laws, including the draft laws On Internal Audit in Public Sector Organizations, On the Program of Cooperation Between the Tripartite Partners of Tajikistan and the ILO, On Decent Work for 2020-2024, On the Delinquency Prevention, National Programs for Juveniles for 2020-2024, On Education, and On the Action Plan for 2020-2025 on the implementation of the presidential executive order on declaring 2020-2040 the years of emphasising natural and hard sciences. The Minister of Education and Science Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda presented a report on this matter.
The Chairman of the Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting Nuriddin Said gave the keynote report on the state program of development of digital television broadcasting for 2021-2025.
While discussing the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, President Rahmon gave instructions to government and healthcare ministry for providing necessary stocks of medicines, and for preparing hospitals and healthcare facilities for a second-wave of COVID-19.
At the end of the meeting, Rahmon called for the timely fulfillment of the set tasks and instructed the government members regarding the preliminary results of the fall and winter heating season, efficient use of energy, preparing for the new academic year, effectively use of household lands, supporting families in need and strengthening sanitary measures.
