Today, a round table on "Entrepreneurship and investment as a basis for economic development” was held in the framework of the Day of Entrepreneurs in the hall of the National Library of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Chairman of State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hamralizoda Farrukh. Representatives of the private sector, relevant ministries and agencies, development partners and invited guests attended the round table.

Hamralizoda Farrukh noted that at the time of independence, as a result of the constructive policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, formation of new economic relations, ensuring sustainable economic development, improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurship and thus improving the living standards of the people of the country has been the strategic goal of the state and the Government to date.

Taking into account the priorities identified by the Government, the necessary measures will be taken to continue the process of economic reform to support entrepreneurship in the country, including taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and potential risks to the national economy.

Jan Peter Olters - Chair of the Development Coordination Council,Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Tajikistan, Pratibha Mehta - UNDP Resident Representative in Tajikistan, representatives of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Shuhrat Mirzoev - UNDP Expert, Bakhriddin Azamatov-local expert, Zamira Samadova - CEO of Imkon Consulting, Turaev Alikhon - Deputy Executive Director of Anzob Metallurgical Company LLC, delivered brief presentations at the meeting.

The main themes of the event were reforms related to the improvement of the investment and business climate, the formation of dialogue with entrepreneurs and investors, new investment opportunities, legal, economic and social aspects of business development in the Republic of Tajikistan. In particular, presentations were made on the results of the analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on small and medium businesses in Tajikistan, the project "State Support and Private Sector Development Program in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2030", corporate governance and other relevant topics.

After the speeches and presentations, there was an exchange of views between the participants.

It was expressed with confidence that the representatives of the private sector, entrepreneurs and investors will make efforts and contribute to the development of domestic production, the production of more import-substituting and export-oriented products, providing the domestic market with competitive products.

In conclusion, Hamralizoda Farrukh congratulated the participants on the Day of Entrepreneur and wished them success in their work.
