Bokhtar Food-2022 International Export Forum was held on May 24-25, 2022, under the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, on the initiative of the Executive Body of the Khatlon region and the Export Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The main purpose of the event was to explore ways to promote exports, present environmentally friendly agricultural products of the region, discuss sustainability and competitiveness in the world market for exporters, and other aspects related to food exports.

The forum was attended by representatives of 9 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey.

Before the event, guests and representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan visited an exhibition of agricultural products of the region, products of excellent quality and competitive edge.

The exhibition featured fresh vegetables, stone fruit for export, drinking water, forest products, natural honey, dairy products, melons, citrus fruits, and other agriculture and food products. The participants expressed interest in further cooperation.

As it became known in the course of the event, the farmers of the Khatlon region in the last few years have gained more experience in the production of export products and cooperation with logistic companies. In the future, export opportunities can be strengthened, which will help increase their sales.

The Khatlon region is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products. Jomi, Shahritus, and Qubodiyon districts export thousands of tons of ecologically clean agricultural products.

In the working part of the event, a representative of the Secretariat of the Consultative Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improving the Investment Climate talked about Women's Entrepreneurship, including the activities of the Working Group on Strengthening Women's Entrepreneurship, Youth and people with disabilities. The participants expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation in raising awareness of women in Khatlon, improving the business environment for women, and thus their active involvement in future meetings of the Working Group.
