On 16 August 2022, within the framework of the business and investment international forum “Pamirinvest-2022”, the first regional meeting of the Working group on strengthening entrepreneurship of women, youth, and persons with disabilities was organized and held in Khorog city.
The meeting was attended by members of the Working group from among representatives of ministries and agencies, including the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Center for Legislation under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of development partners, entrepreneurs of Dushanbe and GBAO region.
During the opening of the meeting, in accordance with the first item on the agenda, the Secretary of the working group, a representative of the Secretariat of the Consultative Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan presented information on improving the investment climate according to the created favorable environment and the reforms carried out with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for women's entrepreneurship development. In particular, it was noted that per the instruction of Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon during the 22nd Session of the Consultative Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on the improvement of investment climate, it is planned to design a Program to support women's entrepreneurship for the period up to 2030, and other relevant instructions in this direction were given to the relevant ministries and agencies. Specific information was also provided on the organization and holding of the Summit within the framework of EXPO-2022.
It was noted that within the framework of this event, women entrepreneurs can present their business ideas, products, and services, get acquainted with international experts, learn how to develop a business plan, and establish cooperation with other women entrepreneurs. At the same time, in order to organize and hold this event at a high level, an Organizing committee was formed, and its first meeting was held on August 11, 2022.
In accordance with the second item on the agenda of the meeting, gender sector experts provided information on the process of developing a Program to support women's entrepreneurship for the period up to 2030, its structure, action plan, and other important aspects, and conducted a survey on obstacles and problems faced by women entrepreneurs of the region. Confidence was expressed that these problems will be taken into account in the process of developing the Program, and effective mechanisms for solving them will be proposed.
Then, according to the agenda of the meeting, a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture presented to the participants on gender aspects of innovative development in the agriculture sector.
According to the last item on the agenda of the meeting, in order to exchange experience and establish cooperation, entrepreneurs of the city of Dushanbe presented presentations based on their experience, difficulties, successes, and other aspects of entrepreneurship.
At the end of the event, the region's entrepreneurs expressed satisfaction with holding such an event and active participation in it in connection with various aspects of the issues raised and received answers to their questions.
